English County Cricket Club, Somerset, has announced that the team will not be renewing the two year contract held with Anguillian & former West Indies International, Omari Banks. In announcing the decision, Brian Rose, Director of Cricket  described Banks' personal application to his job as outstanding  but said that his performances do not justify another contract.

In July the England and Wales Cricket Board suspended Banks for 12 days, fined the team £500 and ordered them to pay an additional £500 costs after he admittedly tampered with the ball during a  Somerset 2nd XI match against Essex.

During his two-year stint with Somerset Banks featured in just six Championship games scoring one half-century and taking seven wickets.
