Anguilla Bodybuilding & Fitness Federation holds first Interisland Championship

(ABBFF Release)  - On Saturday 21st November, the Anguilla Bodybuilding & Fitness Federation (ABBFF) held the first annual interisland Bodybuilding championships. Participants for this event came from St. Maarten, St. Martin and host country Anguilla. It consisted of 3 judged rounds and the always crowd favorite, pose down. The athletes came to the event in excellent condition and from the outset, the crowd was into it. The competition was won by Mr. Anguilla 2009, Mr. Desmond Paul with Mr. Lucienne Gammiette of St. Martin in 2nd and Leon Bussue of St. Maarten in 3rd. 

Verdene Connor of Anguilla was adjudged best poser by the crowd. Music was provided by Dj Swatt and videotaping was done by Charles Richardson and Gendon Reid. Photographers were Derrys Richardson of Mr. Signature photos and Joosvek Heyliger of Access Anguilla. The competition was judged by Peter Vasilis, Celestine Pradel, Sylvia Williams Francis and Errol Williams who was also head judge. Mr. Williams is the President of the Antigua Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation and Vice President of the Eastern Caribbean Bodybuilding federation. The competition's mc was President of the ABBFF, Mr. Haydn Hughes.
 
The French was accompanied by Mr. Francois Carty of the St. Martin federation and the Dutch was accompanied by Ms. Cleopatra Carti of the St. Maarten federation. The 5 door prizes were sponsored by Malliouhana Spa, Smokey's restaurant, Veya restaurant, Le Severin Fitness and Dungeon Gym & Fitness Center.
 
Special sponsors were Junie Fleming of Superior Heavy Equipment who assisted with presentation of awards, Diane Norris, Hertz car rental, Wycliff Richardson, Le Severin Fitness, Dungeon Gym & Fitness center, Alkins Rogers, Caribbean Cable Communications, Unique Landscapes, Aronel Water, Smokeys at the Cove and Veya Restaurant.
 
Next year the competition will be held in St. Maarten. The members of the ABBFF board wishes to thank everyone who attended and supported this event to make it the success it was.
