Anguilla wins medals at the recent Caribbean Teachers Union Games
Anguilla’s delegation to the recent Caribbean Teachers Union games which were held on the 24th-25th July 2010 in St. Kitts returned home on Monday.
Anguillan athletes competed with fellow athletes from Jamaica, Barbados, and Trinidad amongst other countries. With fourteen countries show casing their talent, two Anguillian athletes rose to the challenge and secured three medals for Anguilla. T’Arah Niles won a silver medal in the high jump with a height of 1:40m and a bronze in the cricket ball throw with a distance of 52.29m in the Girls under 13 competitions.
Her counterpart Richelle Meade won the bronze medal in the U15 girls’ high jump with a height of 1:53m.
The Anguilla Amateur Athletics Federation (AAAF) would like to express it congratulations to the athletes and coaches for their efforts in the C.U.T Games. The AAAF would also like to thank all parents and sponsors who made participation in this prestigious event possible.
The AAAF, through this medium would like to thank the Anguilla Teacher Union for ensuring Anguilla participated in the 2010 C.U.T games and for all assistance given while at the games.
