This was most evident on Friday as team Construction the unstoppable force encountered the enigma known as the Sports Department. Everyone expected the triple towers of team Construction to destroy the Sports Department. Intent on keeping their reputation as an undefeated, Construction started off sluggishly and were punished with some excellent blocking and hitting from Sports through Ian “Tucker Connor and Lorenzo’ Gadget” Harrigan. However, Construction fought back but it was too little too late, as Sherwin” Skywalker” Richardson was repeatedly blocked, and Javelle “Special” Brooks became a mere spectator. As the second set rolled around the Marsha twins began the rally cry but it was too late. Team Sports were honed in like sharks to an injured fish. They moved in for the kill and secured the second set win, thus defeating the once mighty Construction with a score of 2: 0. In the second game, the ANGLEC Shockers came with the intentions of lighting up team Teachers. ANGLEC were off to the races but the experienced plays of Khalidah Banks and Perry Richardson thwarted any dreams of an easy victory. Despite these efforts ANGLEC’s power surge caused Teachers to be burnt out in two sets with a score line of 2:0. On Saturday there was a rematch of ANGLEC and Sports as their first match was rained out. From the inception it was obvious that Sports was the new Enigma that has the answer to all volleyball questions. They answered ANGLEC’s challenge readily and with stern conviction. Sports blocked Jeloni Lawrence’s hitting, literally shutting down their offense. Though Justus “Bumsee Connor tried, he saw the writing on the wall, “it is finished”. The game was ended with a 2:0 score. Play off games for the up coming weekend; Friday 6th Nov. Sports vs Statistics ANGLEC vs Sunset Homes Saturday 7th Nov. Construction vs Police MICUH vs Teachers
