The Fall Seminars serve two major purposes; a way of saying Thanks to the area’s high producing travel agents who have remained consistently loyal in their support of Anguilla as a tourism destination and as an outlet for Anguillian hoteliers to engage in one on one interaction with the area’s high producing travel agents. Each event began with a trade show component followed by individual presentations by the hotelier. Hotels represented included Cap Juluca, represented by Charles Black III, Director of Sales & Marketing, Carimar Beach Club represented by General Manager, Fred Thompson; Cuisinart Hotel & Spa, represented by David Lyons, Director of Sales & Marketing; Malliouhana Resort and Spa represented by Daphne Warner; Paradise Cove Resort and Ultimacy Villa Retreat, represented by Proprietor Sherille Hughes; Viceroy Anguilla Resort & Residences, represented by Brent Hall, Director of Leisure Sales; and Marva Thompson, who represented both Blue Sea Anguilla Destination Management Company and Meads Bay Beach Villas. The December 7 to 11 2009 week activities covered travel presentations in Greenwich, Connecticut, Wycoff, New Jersey and two main events in Long Island including East Meadow, Long Island and three back to back luncheon seminars with groups of travel sellers of one of Anguilla’s largest Tour Operators, Travel Impressions in Farmingdale, Long Island. A luncheon presentation with corporate and incentive meeting planners from fortune 500 companies, also formed part of the week’s activities providing an excellent opportunity for further exploration in this market niche and for which the island is progressively targeting. The week culminated with a dinner with members of APANY, The Anguilla Progressive Association of New York helmed by Anguillian, Carlson Connor .
