FirstCaribbean International Bank Launches its Visa Debit Card
Bridgetown, Barbados - Customers of FirstCaribbean International Bank in the British Virgin Islands and Turks & Caicos Islands can now pay for goods and services anywhere in the world from their chequing or savings accounts, thanks to the new FirstCaribbean Visa Debit Card!
FirstCaribbean’s Visa Debit Card provides customers with the ability to enjoy Convenience and Security for their everyday purchases, combined with additional benefits from Visa International. Unlike a credit card, this card is linked directly to a customer’s primary deposit account. Purchases and ATM withdrawals are automatically deducted from the account.
This card is simple and convenient to use. It provides customers with a fast and easy way to pay for all purchases anywhere in the world, while easily keeping track of their spending. Each purchase made is detailed in the customer’s chequing account statements or can be monitored via internet banking.
The cards have universal acceptance at over 22 million merchants and 700,000 ATM locations worldwide and on the internet, wherever Visa or PLUS logos are displayed. Cardholders will enjoy the Visa benefits of Travel Accident Insurance, Emergency Medical Insurance, Auto Rental Insurance (Platinum cards only), Emergency Cash and Emergency Card Replacement, to name a few.
Chief Marketing Officer, Peter Steenveld, said of the launch of the FirstCaribbean Visa Debit card: “We are excited to introduce the FirstCaribbean Visa Debit Platinum and Classic cards to the Caribbean region. These cards provide our customers with convenient access to their money anywhere Visa is accepted.”
“Our Visa Debit product will be rolled out in phases throughout the region, commencing first in the British Virgin Islands and Turks & Caicos Islands, on April 30, 2010” concluded Mr. Steenveld.
