Bahamas police are looking for Hewit Alleyne, a former Guyanese Teacher in Eleuthera. ================================================================================ admin on 03/23/2010 14:15:00 Etc/GMT+1 (Nassau, Bahamas) - Bahamian police are actively looking for a Guyanese National, Hewit Marco Alleyne, in relation to an active investigation. Police remain tight lipped about the investigation though speculation is rife that it may be related to reports of alleged misconduct at a private school in Eleuthera published by a national daily earlier this month. A Wanted Notice has been posted on Interpol's website to assist police in locating Mr. Hewit. They list his category of offences as "Crimes against Children" and say a warrant for his arrest has been issued by a Chief Magistrate in The Bahamas. Interpol does also point out that persons in its Red Notices should be considered innocent until proven guilty. 32-year-old Alleyne, until earlier this month, was a science teacher at the highly regarded Windermere High School in Eleuthera, a 110 mile island 70 miles east of New Providence. Police say they would like to question the teacher and are asking anyone knowing of his whereabouts to contact them.
