Anguilla International Merchandise Trade Statistics Summary - January 2010
(The Valley, Anguilla) - Total imports for the first month in the new decade, 2010, were recorded as EC$40.7 million, an 18.0% decline over January 2009 imports. January exports of EC$3.0 million were 44.8% higher than the corresponding period in 2009. The trade balance inevitably stood in deficit of EC$37.8 million, shrinking 20.7% over January 2009. This month’s declines could be further explored when upon examination of the imports by SITC1 category for each of the three broad categories with Consumption Goods down 5.1%, Primary Goods retreating 43.0% and Capital Goods falling 24.8%.
