(The Valley, Anguilla) - The Anguilla National Trust has partnered with Mr. Crispin Brooks, Managing Director of Rosell Media, to produce a documentary on Anguilla’s marine parks and marine life. Brooks, who is also a filmmaker, has sourced the services of friend and colleague, Ms Shanon Sparks, an Emmy Award-winning filmmaker.

As part of a larger Overseas Territories Environment Programme-funded project, the documentary is part of a National Trust campaign to raise awareness about Anguilla’s vulnerable underwater world and the need to conserve and protect its nearshore resources, particularly its coral reefs and seagrass beds.

Sparks, an avid diver and proponent for shark conservation, has been on-island this week filming Anguilla’s marine environment. Underwater footage will be complemented by Brooks who is capturing above water scenes and interviewing natural resources managers, tourism sector operators, and fishers. The documentary is expected to be completed by the end of October.

The Anguilla National Trust and Rosell Media wish to thank Matthew Billington of Shoal Bay Scuba, the Department of Fisheries and Marine Resources, and Jacqueline Cestero for their assistance and generosity.
