Energy Efficiency Workshop and In-Country Visit
Developing National Energy Efficiency Strategies and Action Plans will be the key focus of a one day stakeholder workshop at the Soroptimist Hall on Thursday of this week October 11th, 2012 from 1:30 – 4:30 pm.
The event is being hosted by the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications, Utilities and Housing (MICUH), with support from the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) and in collaboration with the Caribbean Development Bank, which are currently assisting the islands of the sub-region in developing this key sector.
The Ministry has extended an invitation to all members of the public including industry, commerce, trades, professions, academia, government, organizations, other parties and agencies to be in attendance.
The workshop will be facilitated by a consultant from ECONOLER Inc, a leading Canadian Engineering and Energy consulting firm. Stakeholders in attendance at the workshop are encouraged to bring their professional experience and opinions in their respective sectors of activity to enrich the discussions and other interactions at the workshop. Discussions and follow-up meetings with key stakeholders and Government Ministries are expected to continue on Friday 12th October, 2012.
This initiative further illustrates the Ministry and Government’s commitment to the reduction of electricity costs while also increasing energy security and environmental sustainability.
