Two arrested for and charged with murder of Lofton Foreman

The Royal Anguilla Police Force has arrested and charged 31 year old Salim Richardson of the East End and 23 year old Shaquille Gumbs of Garlin Bottom with the murder of Lofton Foreman. The two who were arrested and charged over the weekend were taken before the Magistrate’s Court on Monday 12th November, 2018 where they were both remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison.  They are both due back before the court on Wednesday 14th May, 2019 to answer to their charge.

 

39 year old arrested for drug offences and obstruction

 The Royal Anguilla Police Force on Wednesday 7th November, 2018 arrested and charged 39 year old Fritz Richardson of South Hill and charged him with possession of cocaine and cannabis as well obstructing the police while in execution of their duties. The alleged offender who appeared before the Magistrate’s Court on Monday 12th November, 2018 was granted bail in the sum of EC $45,000.00 with one surety.  His condition of bail is the immediate surrender of travel documents. Richardson is due back in court on Tuesday 15th January, 2018 to answer to the charge.

 

The RAPF would like to remind the public that (for each accused):

a)      The defendant is entitled to a fair trial;

b)      There is a presumption of innocence until proven guilty;

c)      Nothing would be stated or published which would prejudice a fair trial taking place; and

d)     Section 115(g) of the Criminal Code applies and which provides for an offence in respect of any person who, while a judicial proceeding is pending, makes use of any speech or writing misrepresenting such proceeding or capable of prejudicing any person in favor of or against any parties to such proceeding, or calculated to lower the authority of any person before whom the proceeding is to be held.
