(Fl, USA) - It was very cold in Blacksburg Virginia as the temperature the hovered around the low 30 deg. celsius  and the snow rose to a height of 6.5 inches. Notwithstanding the elements, however, the spectators at the Rector Field indoor complex were kept warm with a stunning performance by Anguilla’s Shara Proctor.  She braved the conditions and leapt to a distance of 6.67 m or 21 feet, 10.75 inches. This distance set a Florida school record and subsequently broke Shara’s previous record of 6.60 m or 21 feet 8 inches which was set last week.

Her jump was the second best in the world this year second only to the Ukraine’s Rybalko who produced a jump of 6.69 meters.  It should also be noted that Shara’s jump was the 12th best in the history of women’s collegiate long jump.
