St. Kitts wins third consecutive LIDC championship
The 38th Annual Leeward Islands Debating Competition (LIDC) wrapped up in Nevis, between the participating countries of Anguilla, Antigua, British Virgin Islands, Montserrat, St .Kitts and host country Nevis, on Sunday February 28, 2010 with St. Kitts claiming its tenth championship.
Having defeated Anguilla in the third debate of the competition, St. Kitts edged out Nevis by 1 point (651 to 650) debating ‘The rights ascribe to today's children have resulted in a marked decline in the levels of discipline in the Caribbean’
Kasim Queeley of St. Kitts was awarded the best speaker of the debate and also adjudged the ‘Best Speaker’ overall.
With this victory St. Kitts became the first island to win the championship three years in a row.
