A Chance to Become part of Anguilla’s Gold Medal Winning National Culinary Team
Pastry Chefs and Bartenders invited to register to compete for a place in Anguilla’s 2010 Team.
(The Valley, Anguilla) - “Pastry chefs and bartenders, of all ages and experiences are being invited to compete for a place on both the senior and junior National Culinary Teams for 2010”, said Mrs. Gilda Gumbs-Samuel, of the Anguilla Hotel and Tourism Association.
The winning chefs and bartenders, will round out the Anguillian Teams who will be returning to Puerto Rico, to defend their titles and hopefully collect more gold medals at this year’s competition.
Every year, Anguilla sends a team to compete in the famous Taste of the Caribbean Competition. Taste, as the competition is affectionately known, is by far the most prestigious and challenging cooking competition in the region. Taste will be held later this year in Puerto Rico, (date to be advised) and the Anguillian team, has set their sights on returning home victorious for the second consecutive year.
Anguilla’s team was a force to be reckoned with last year, when they reached the finals and captured the highly coveted and contested Caribbean Chef of The Year Award which was won by Mr. Glendon Carty of Ripples restaurant in Sandy Ground, and Pimms at Cap Juluca. The talented Anguilla Chefs & Bartender, also won medals in the gold, silver and bronze categories
The competition for a position on the team will be held on Monday, March 29th, at Cuisinart Resort and Spa. All pastry chefs and bartenders wishing to enter or wanting to learn more about the judging criteria should call the ATHA, to obtain a copy of the entry and consent forms.
Deadline for all completed forms to be returned to the AHTA, is no later than noon on Friday March 26th. For further information please contact Ms. Gilda Gumbs-Samuel at ahtaadmin@anguillanet.com or call on 497 2944.
