(Summary Report Overview - The Valley Anguilla) - International merchandise trade for the period December 2009, that is buying from and selling goods to sources outside Anguilla’s borders, showed that the import bill, stood at EC$40.7 million; 37.0% lower than the December 2008 amount. On the other hand exports were valued at EC$3,1 million; registering an increase of 125.4% over the corresponding period in
2008.

The value of imports far outweigh that of exports and this report will provide a description of what was imported and show the movement of these goods by SITC. There are three broad categories used and the Consumption Goods accounted for the largest slice of the import bill. All three of these categories saw large declines, but the level of imports this period was still above imports in the earlier part of this decade.
