DOE Announces Nature-Fest Exhibition Week
The Valley Anguilla, June 1, 2010 – From Monday June 7 through Saturday June 12, the Department of Environment will once again open its door to the general public. Educators, tourism managers, policy makers and members of the public are invited to a series of exhibitions, guided tours and presentations under the theme ‘Nature’s Anguilla’.
Dubbed the Nature-fest of 2010, the visitors and participants will have the expanded opportunity of participating in several ongoing projects with the staff of the Department as well as view and discuss several critical aspects of environmental management in Anguilla.
Each activity of the week long programme will be FREE for the public and will commence at the new Office of the Department of Environment, located in the Ministry of Home Affairs and Environment, in the Valley.
- On: Monday June 7 – opening, registration and in-house exhibition
- Tuesday June 8 – island and heritage tours
- Wednesday June 9 – Expedition to Little Scrub
- Thursday June 10 – in-house exhibition and presentations
- Friday June 11 – second island and heritage tours
- Saturday June 12 – additional in-house exhibition and presentations
These activities were originally planned for May to coincide with World Environment Week 2010 – ‘many species, one planet, one future’.
