On Friday 23 July 2010, LIME’s colleagues were engaged in a full day of activities as part of the ‘Winning as One’ road show.  The Road show was a region wide event which visited each of the 13 businesses in the Caribbean where LIME operates over the past 3 months.  5 members of LIME Operating Board, namely Mr David Shaw Chief Executive Office; Mr Chris Dehring, Chief Marketing Office; Mr Donald Austin, Executive Vice President Legal and Regulatory; Mr Milton Brady, Chief Commercial Officer and Ms Usha Avatar the coordinator of the road show and Vice President Engagement and Communication arrived in Anguilla on an Anguilla Air Services Charter from Antigua on the evening of Thursday 22 July to conduct the Road Show and participate in its various activities.

The Road Show had several elements including 2 environmental community service projects and presentations by Messrs Shaw, Brady and Dehring where colleagues were given the opportunity to hear the plans on the way forward for the company over the short and medium term and to share their views and feelings about where LIME is today and where the company is going.

One of the environmental projects was a Sea Turtle Capture and Tagging exercise facilitated by the Department of Fisheries which took place in the waters between the Island Harbour Pier and Scilly Cay where 11 Green Turtles were captured, weighed, measured and put back into the sea.

The second project was the planting of buttonwood seedlings at the East End Pond.  This project was facilitated by the Anguilla National Trust with the assistance of the CITRUS Community Group.

The remainder of the day’s activities took place at the loft of daVida’s restaurant and the day ended with fellowship and socializing at ‘LIME down’ in the backyard of LIME’s main office. Music was provided my DJ Sugar and a brief appearance was made by Panther Vibes, the band that LIME is sponsoring for Summer Festival 2010.

The Anguilla road show was deemed to be a resounding success by all and LIME would especially like to thank Mr James Gumbs, Mr Carlos Sasso and the other members of staff at the Fisheries Department who made the Turtle Tagging exercise possible and Ms Farah Mukidah, Ms Kim Gumbs and the members of CITRUS who facilitated and assisted in the tree planting.

We would also like to thank the Hon. Chief Minister Hubert Hughes and the Hon. Mr Jerome Roberts who took the time to be at the tree planting in East End and Hon. Mr Othlyn Vanterpool who visited both projects in a show of support for LIME activities.
