August 31, 2007: Two Anguillian athletes participated
in the recent World Athletics Championships held in Osaka
Japan from August 25th to September 2nd 2007. Mr.
Kieron Rogers participated in the 100m and was eliminated in
Heat 2, after finishing 7th in a field of 9. His time was
11.05secs. Ms. Shara Proctor participated in the long
jump and didn't qualify out of her group after landing 0.9m
short of the qualification standard. The athletes were
accompanied by Mrs. Wilma Proctor and Mr. Rollins
Richardson as coach and congressional delegate
respectively.
The performances of both Athletes were below their personal
bests however, according to a release, the experience
has moistened their appetites to become the best.
