14, 2007: The Royal Anguilla Police Force reports that
on Thursday 13th September 2007 at 15:53 hours,
officers responded to a report of a stabbing incident at the
Viceroy Project at Barnes Bay. On arrival investigating
officers received information that there was an altercation
between a local truck driver and an Indian worker which
resulted in the Indian worker being wounded.
The Indian worker initials R K was
transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital where he was
treated for injuries to one of his hands. He was discharged
on the said date.
As a result of Police investigations,
two persons were arrested. Local truck driver Clinton Bryan
of the Farrington was formally charged with the offence of
grievous bodily harm. He was taken before the Magistrate’s
Court on Friday 14th September 2007 and was
granted bail in the sum of $25,000 EC with one surety to
attend court on the 26th October 2007.
Whilst Indian worker Gerwindies Singh
of Viceroy Project was charged with the offences of being
armed with an offensive weapon, obstructing a Police Officer
in the execution of his duty and assaulting Clinton Bryan.
He was taken before the Magistrate’s Court on Friday 14th
September 2007 where he pleaded guilty and received a year
suspended sentence for being armed with an offensive weapon,
fined $500.00 for obstructing the Police Officer and $500.00
for assaulting Clinton Bryan.
