2007: Finance ministers from the Eastern Caribbean
Central Bank's (ECCB) member countries are scheduled to meet
in St. Kitts on Thursday for the 60th meeting of the Bank's
Monetary Council. Anguilla is to be represented by the Hon.
Victor Banks, Chairman, Monetary Council, ECCB and Minister
for Finance and Economic Development. Council members will
receive the governor’s report on monetary and credit
conditions as mandated by the agreement establishing the
bank. They will also discuss the role of the regional money
and capital markets in sustaining growth in the ECCU, with
particular emphasis on the Regional Government Securities
Market which celebrates its fifth year of operation in
November.
The monetary council meeting will be preceded by the 112th
meeting of the bank’s board of directors. |
