Anguilla youngsters participate in International Rights of the Child Day in St. Maarten

November 27, 2007: Over 300 Students , including several from Anguilla, along with their coaches and trainers converged on  St. Maarten on Saturday in celebration of International Rights of the Child Day. The teams from St. Maarten, St. Martin and Anguilla participated in matches of football, basketball, tennis, volleyball and track and field.

Anguilla performed well overall and dominated both football and track. On the football pitch they placed first in the Boys Under 13, Boys under 11 and girls under 11.

In addition, Anguilla won the track meet in both the the 13 and under division as well as the 10 and under. On the track, teams competed in the 80m and 100m sprints as well as the longer distances of 400m, 600m, 800m and 1,000 m.

Organisers reported the event as an overall success.
