
January 10, 2008: Anguilla
will join the remaining three fulltime Stanford 20/20
professional teams (Antigua & Barbuda, Nevis and St. Lucia )
in St. Lucia this weekend for a practice round-robin series
at the Beausejour Cricket Ground, ahead of the second
Stanford 20/20 regional competition slated to begin on
January 26.
Anguilla plays its first game of the Stanford 20/20
competition on February 3 against Grenada and should they be
victorious, will most likely face
Barbados on February 15.
This past weekend Anguilla played neighbours,
The British Virgin Islands and St. Maarten, in St. Maarten
at the Carib Lumber Park in a couple of
hotly contested games. They split their
two encounters, surrendering nine runs in the final over of
their first game to lose to the
British Virgin Islands and then garnering 15 runs in the
final over of their next game to defeat St. Maarten.
The Scores:
Game 1: Anguilla: 147 from seven from 20 overs; The
BVI 148 for seven from in the 20th over.
Game 2: St. Maarten 125 for four from 15 overs;
Anguilla 126, for two in the 15th over. |
