January 19, 2008: The
media arm of the National Assessment Team (NAT) will be
holding the first of a number of planned
radio appearances on Monday 21st January, 2008 on Kool
FM’s ‘To the Point. The focus of this initial programme will
be the Survey of Living Conditions, one of four components
of the Country Poverty Assessment (CPA) 2007/8.
The planned series of appearances on radio, are a part of
the continued awareness campaign for the CPA which was
launched on October 2, 2007. It is being conducted by the
Government of Anguilla (GOA) in conjunction with the
Caribbean Development Bank (CDB), under the theme, “Information for Action” - “Improvement for All”.
The assessment
aims to assess and evaluate the
levels, extent and impact of poverty, on the population of Anguilla.
The GOA in its efforts to focus on social issues and their
interrelations with the current economic
environment says the national poverty assessment will be comprehensive,
utilizing a
broad definition of poverty. |
